Management

Beginning his insurance career after graduating from McGill University with a Bachelor in Economics, he brings over 35 years of underwriting and corporate insurance expertise.
He holds his FCIP – Fellowship of Chartered Insurance Professionals designation along with a level 3 RIBO principal broker certification.
He also proudly serves on the Bruyère Hospital foundation board of directors.
He actively leads all aspects of the company’s operations while also nurturing valuable partnerships and client relationships to ensure sustained business growth and long term success.
Building and expanding our Halpenny team has always been a strong passion.
He firmly believes that our overall success starts with our team’s overall professionalism and expertise.

Richard Massie

Greg brings over 25 years of experience in commercial insurance, with a strong background in leadership and national industry-focused teams. He has worked in both Toronto and Winnipeg and was a longstanding leader in Canada’s public sector insurance practice. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University, is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), and has earned the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.

Don has spent over 20 years at Halpenny and has contributed extensively in our commercial, personal lines & employee benefits departments while maintaining a key management role in operations.
He has also led key technology and process improvements and led the launch of Halpenny’s employee benefits division. His most notable asset is a constant and reliable passion for consistently delivering excellent results and leading by example.

Don Lamoureux

With over 25 years of progressive experience in the insurance industry, Shawn brings an exceptional track record of leadership and innovation. As a certified CPA and accomplished CFO, he has successfully driven growth, operational efficiency, and profitability in various executive roles across the property and casualty (P&C) and life insurance sectors. Shawn’s expertise spans financial management, operations, M&A, technology oversight and implementation, and strategic planning. Notably, he has led large-scale business transformations, spearheaded technological advancements to modernize brokerage operations, and delivered substantial gains in operational performance.

Mike has over two decades of commercial insurance experience including program design and placement expertise for some of the largest and most recognized organizations domiciled in Eastern Ontario but with operations spanning Nationally across Canada or Worldwide. Mike has collaborated with numerous clients helping them develop insurance and risk management solutions for their complex commercial insurance risk transfer.

Matt has 15+ years of commercial and risk management expertise advising many of the largest organizations in Canada across a wide spectrum of industries including Municipalities, Federal Crown Corporations, Retailers, Wholesalers, Printers, Manufacturers, Healthcare, Media, Technology, Non-Profits on their risk transfer and risk management needs.
Matt is licensed in all provinces and territories and holds his CIP and CRM designations and is a board member of the local RIMS chapter in Ottawa.

Matthew White

Mike is an extremely dedicated insurance executive with almost 20 years of insurance experience specializing in the public sector, construction, and automobile industries.
He is an expert in assessing clients’ operations and risk exposures and personally leads all strategic renewal initiatives for his clients to ensure optimal insurance coverage and overall value.
He is extremely committed to building strong relationships and delivering tailored solutions for his clients.

Michael Gilmour

Josh brings over ten years of insurance experience in Sales, Claims and Operations. His experience contributes to optimizing processes, enabling change, driving efficiency, and leading Halpenny’s cross-functional teams.
He also contributes to Halpenny’s key clientele by leveraging his claims experience to oversee claims management through advocacy and guidance to enhance customer satisfaction.
Josh currently represents Halpenny on the Ottawa Insurance Brokers Association’s board of directors.

Taylor brings experience in driving both marketing strategies and operational efficiencies while leading initiatives to enhance brand visibility, optimize work processes and deliver measurable growth. Focused on aligning Halpenny’s multiple divisions, leveraging data-driven insights and fostering innovation, he ensures that organizational goals are met while elevating overall performance.

Taylor Massie

With almost 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, Matt specializes in employee benefits, group retirement plans and corporate insurance solutions.
He prioritizes long-term client relationships by offering tailored solutions with a strong emphasis on customer service. Outside of work, Matt enjoys quality time with his wife and two young children and is very passionate about sports.

Chris joined Halpenny in 2023 to help build and launch the Benefits and Retirement Division. Prior, Chris was an Insurance Advisor and Investment Representative with a well known carrier, where he worked closely with business owners and families to find employee benefits, corporate and personal life and income protection insurance, and wealth management and retirement planning solutions.
